Albany State Basketball drops first home game of the season

The Golden Rams lost (69-61) to the Georgia College & State University Bobcats at the ASU West Campus Arena on Saturday afternoon.  With the loss, the Golden Rams fell to (4-4) overall while the Bobcats improved to (7-1) overall and (5-1) on the road.  The loss was the Golden Rams 1st defeat on their home court. 
 
After a back and forth 1st half, the Golden Rams trailed (33-32) at the break.  But, the Bobcats made the bulk of their 3 point attempts in the 2nd half and cruised to a 7 point victory over the Golden Rams.
 
As a team, the Golden Rams 34.3% from the field, 22.2% from the 3 point line and 73.3% from the free throw line.
 
Shakur Poteat led the Golden Rams with 19 points and 3 steals.  Dylan Edwards scored 15 points off the bench.  Reggie James finished with 10 points and Blaise Wallacecontributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
 
The Bobcats shot 40.3% from the field, 26.1% from the 3 point line and 72.2% from the free throw line.
 
Ian Davis led the Bobcats with 18 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.  Richard Crawford scored 15 points and Brendan Rigsbee added 15 points and 8 rebounds.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action against Georgia Southwestern at 7:30 pm on Monday, December 11.
